Description

NGC-7479 (or Caldwell 44) is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Pegasus. William Herschel discovered it in 1784.

It has been recognized as a Seyfert galaxy and with a starburst activity on the nucleus, the outer arms, and also across the bar of the galaxy.
A particular feature is most of the stars were formed in the last 100 million years.
